next kids

2016-02-04 Next Kids
Elder Steve hangs out with some next kids in the sanctuary during service.

We’re blessed with an abundance of children at our church. We love them. We want to see them grow into the people God made them to be.

On Sunday mornings our kids worship with us through song and prayer. They then go to Sunday School to hear about God’s Story, play games, and make crafts. The youngest also eat snack. A new Next Kids season starts each September. In the summer, the older classes go to McBurney Park together for activities and play.

Sunday School is split into four age groups:
Seeds: ages 1-3 (Babies and Toddlers)
Sprouts: ages 3-5 / Pre-School-SK (Pre-School and Kindergarten)
Saplings: ages 6-9 / Grades 1 to 3 (Primary)
Cedars: ages 9-12 / Grades 4 to 6 (Junior)

Our Cedars leaders are working to organize quarterly fun activities to help further foster relationships among this age group.

We encourage our teens to plug in at either the Rustle Junior Youth Group or at Bethel Church Youth Group, both located close to Next (north and south of Colborne Street).

One Sunday a month we have an “intergenerational service” when all ages  participate in all aspects of the service; this usually includes communion.

If you’re interested in volunteering with next kids you need a current CPIC (police check) and the information below!

We recently started a Next Kids (NK) newsletter. Anyone is welcome to subscribe to it, but currently it’s sent to parents, caregivers and teachers of our kids. It is a communication tool, but it’s also a place for sharing resources, ideas and prayer requests. Complete the form below to subscribe.
