At face value, our church community may at first appear to be made-up of similar people. However, despite having many shared values, we all have distinct differences, and we value and support those differences.
Next Church is made up of a diverse group of people, coming from a variety of church (and non-church) backgrounds. These differences influence our church culture and we learn from each other. We practice an open communion table, allowing everyone to decide for themselves if they want to participate. Which is why we say… “If you come, you belong”. We also encourage each other to “consider leaving differently”, as we learn, grow and are changed by God’s faithful presence.
We have roughly 40 children, who definitely keep things interesting. And we have roughly a dozen post-secondary students, and would love to have more.
Being primarily made up of children and 20-, 30- and 40-somethings, we would also be enthusiastic for more 50+ Nexters. Diversity in ages brings strength and beauty to a community, and we feel all age-groups have so much to offer each other.
