Baseball Tournament: This Weekend!
FYI Update: we won the tournament (trophy is in the window… come check it out!)
The Next Church Outreach baseball team finished second place overall in the Kingston District Church Softball League with a record of 20-3-1. The first place team Harrowsmith 1 (congrats!) had the same record but finished above us because of head to head results: we played them and they only beat us by one run.
Regular season results aside, this weekend is the tournament at Cloverdale Diamonds on Sunnyside Road, near the 401, between Sydenham Road and Highway 38!
Come cheer on the team on Friday August 21 at 7pm (Diamond 3) against Verona; then again at 9pm (Diamond 4) against Bay park 1. And on Saturday August 22 at 11am (Diamond 3). The home run derby is Saturday at noon.
Wear Green and don’t forget your signs, sunscreen and screaming voices! GO NEXT GO!
Sunday Service at Echo Lake
This Sunday (June 24, 2015) join us for service and lunch at Echo Lake at 10:30am. As part of our -usually- annual retreat, the space is a beautiful setting to consider how we can grow in our understanding of love for God and each other.
If you’d like to come but require a ride, please email infonextchurch@gmail.com or text 613-483-2811.
Directions can be found here or posted on the church door over the weekend. We hope you can make it!

Questions? Contact infonextchurch@gmail.com
**IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT** Retreat postponed
The 2015 Next Church Retreat will be postponed until further notice.
Unfortunately, retreat our venue double booked – for May 29 to 31 – and we were bumped and have been unable to find a suitable alternative site.
But don’t worry! We will continue to explore the Gospel and we will plan for time together on another weekend (and if you’ve already paid we can hold on to your money until the next retreat or we can reimburse you).
In fact, we wonder how many of you would like to camp at Foley Mountain next Friday (29) or Saturday (30)? If you’re interested in this please email infonextchurch@gmail.com.
Thanks for understanding. There will be an announcement recapping the situation on Sunday. We look forward to what God has in store for our community.

act out: picnic at Skelly Park
On the third Sunday of August, we continue with our “Act Out” series… outdoors-style!
We’ll begin by gathering at 10:10am at Next Church to sing some tunes, and listen to a short vignette that summarizes our learning to date in Acts. After that, we will head to Skeleton Park (aka McBurney Park) for our potluck picnic including… “acting out” in the neighbourhood by cleaning up the streets on our way to the park, bringing sidewalk chalk etc. to the park to share with our neighbours. Bring lots of food to share – preferably salads and snacky finger foods! Out of our grateful hearts, we share what we have (food and stories) to all.
Remember to be weather-prepared and bring your own plates, blankets, cutlery, serving utensils and cups/water bottles for the potluck. It will be goooood.
act out{side}: Next goes outdoors
Hello Next!
Summer is here and there is no better season to take time off, sit back, and enjoy nature.
This Sunday, July 20th, we continue with our “Act Out” series… except we’re doing so as a community OUTDOORS. This is our FIRST family service of the season!
We’ll begin by gathering at 10:10am at next to sing some tunes, and reflect on a few Scripture readings. After that, we will bike/drive/run to the Lemoine Point Conservation Area (about 10.4 km away) for our potluck picnic. Bring lots of food to share (preferably salads and snacky finger foods).
Remember to be weather-prepared; bring hats, sunscreen/long sleeve shirts, water bottles, or rain coats and rain boots. Also, please bring blankets, your own plates, cutlery, serving utensils and cups/water bottles for the potluck. It will be one A-W-E-S-O-M-E Sunday!
See you soon!
