Next Kids Leaders’ Session

Slide1

Calling all Next Kids leaders and would be leaders. If you’re interested in or are already helping raise our kids to love God on Sunday mornings, please join us at the church Tuesday evening (November 24) at 8pm to review policy, curriculum, planning and more. Snacks will be served.

Unlocking the Bible

Take 6

What do the Scriptures really say? Weren’t they put together by a bunch of political elites thousands of years ago? Is the Bible relevant for society or is it relative to the whims of the one reading it?

These are some of the questions we hope to unpack as we learn to unlock the Bible together on Sunday mornings. Join us! 10:10am – 89 Colborne St.

Baseball Tournament: This Weekend!

FYI Update: we won the tournament (trophy is in the window… come check it out!)

The Next Church Outreach baseball team finished second place overall in the Kingston District Church Softball League with a record of 20-3-1. The first place team Harrowsmith 1 (congrats!) had the same record but finished above us because of head to head results: we played them and they only beat us by one run.

Regular season results aside, this weekend is the tournament at Cloverdale Diamonds on Sunnyside Road, near the 401, between Sydenham Road and Highway 38!

Come cheer on the team on Friday August 21 at 7pm (Diamond 3) against Verona; then again at 9pm (Diamond 4) against Bay park 1. And on Saturday August 22 at 11am (Diamond 3). The home run derby is Saturday at noon.

Wear Green and don’t forget your signs, sunscreen and screaming voices! GO NEXT GO!

Sunday Service at Echo Lake

This Sunday (June 24, 2015) join us for service and lunch at Echo Lake at 10:30am. As part of our -usually- annual retreat, the space is a beautiful setting to consider how we can grow in our understanding of love for God and each other.

If you’d like to come but require a ride, please email infonextchurch@gmail.com or text 613-483-2811.

Directions can be found here or posted on the church door over the weekend. We hope you can make it!

New Name: Ordinary Time, Stories from One and Two Samuel

Our summer sermon series (which started last week) has a new name! Come along with us in this “Ordinary Time” as we hear “Stories from One and Two Samuel” in the order of the Revised Common Lectionary.

Want to read the Scriptures which underscore our teachings in this season? Click here for a weekly Old Testament, Pslam, Gospel, Epistle reading.

As a helpful hint: think of the Old Testament readings as God revealing himself to humanity; with the teachings and example of Jesus and our ability to live life in the power of the Spirit being found in the New Testament readings; and the Psalms as a form of a prayer.

Sunday services are at 10:10am. Hope to see you there!
